How to Type and Use Marathi Fonts in Photoshop
Learn how to type Marathi in Photoshop, fix letters that appear incorrectly, and use Marathi Unicode fonts in Adobe Photoshop.
When you type or paste Marathi Unicode text into Adobe Photoshop, sometimes the letters may not appear correctly. Some vowel marks or combined letters may look separated or appear in the wrong place.
This can happen when Photoshop is not using the correct text settings for Indian languages. Here is how you can set up Photoshop for Marathi text.
How to Enable Marathi Text Support
To fix separated letters and misplaced vowel marks (matras), configure the World-Ready Layout text engine:
- Open Adobe Photoshop.
- On Windows, go to Edit → Preferences → Type. On macOS, go to Photoshop → Settings → Type.
- Look for the Text Engine Options section.
- Select World-Ready Layout if this option is available.
- In older Photoshop versions, select the option that supports Middle Eastern and South Asian text.
- Click OK.
- Restart Photoshop if required.
- Create a new text layer and paste your Marathi Unicode text.
Your Marathi text should now display smoothly with joined letters and correct vowel signs.
